The Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic (DAPRE) published the Draft Decree “By which the standards of the Transparency and Public Ethics Programs” (PTEP) are adopted.

The aim of the Project is to establish minimum guidelines to be adopted by public entities to prevent corruption and ensure their effective and efficient operation.

In addition to the implementation of a System for the Control of Corruption and Fraud, the Project establishes the guidelines on which the obligated entities must implement a Risk Management System for Money Laundering, Financing of Terrorism, and Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (SARLAFT/FPADM).

Thus, national authorities must adopt the Transparency and Public Ethics Programs no later than one year after the publication of the Decree. For their part, departmental and municipal authorities will have two years to adopt the PTEP.

The Draft Decree is available for public consultation, comments and observations will be received until December 9th, 2023.
