On January 24, the U.S. Department of Justice, along with 8 US states, sued Google for allegedly abusing its dominant position in digital advertising.

The purpose of the lawsuit is to order Google to get rid of “Google Ad Manager” and to suspend the commission of anti-competitive practices such as: reducing competition; increasing advertising costs; reducing website profits; and blocking innovation.

It is worth noting that this is the second antitrust lawsuit filed by the DOJ against Google in the last 3 years, when back in 2020 the technology giant was sued for using anti-competitive tactics to illegally monopolize the online search and advertising markets.
