A Long History of Copying. Epic Games first released Fortnite in July 2017 as an early access game. Most notably, that included the PUBG Corporation, which filed a lawsuit against Epic Games in May 2018 for alleged copyright infringement. However, it wasn’t the end of Epic Games’ issues with copying.
